Amtrak tickets are purchased like airline tickets, you need to book a reservation ahead of time (a few months in advance is best, as the price goes up the closer you book to your departure). The best way to do this is by either going to their site, www.amtrak.com, or by calling 1-800-USA-RAIL. Booking tickets is possible via ticket agents at staffed stations or through Quik-Trak kiosks. Once you book your tickets, you will have to either pick them up at the station from a ticket agent, from a kiosk, or having them mailed to you directly for an extra fee. I do not believe there is a disability discount but they will accommodate an special needs. For full details on planning and booking a trip (as well as station information), go to http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/ContentServer/Page/1237405732517/1237405732517

No discount for disabilities, but if you require a travel companion for medical reasons, your companion travels free.

You need to book them ahead of time. You need to call 1-800-USA-RAIL. Another choice is www.amtrak.com

If you have time, and you're not especially visually-challenged, I'd go to their web site: Amtrak.com.
