What is the best train service in the US?

I'm trying to get from charlotte to indianapolis

There are a few... Metro North Commuter Railroad in contract with Connecticut DOT, Amtrak, and others provide great service..

Is TOTALLY BOGUS!



There have not been any such incidents.. Not even close to 57 derailments and some where caused by hitting auto's or trucks RUNNING crossings, which is the auto/truck drivers fault. Amtrak does not even have a billion riders!



Amtrak is perfectly safe...

Well, being that Amtrak has a monopoly on long distance passenger service, "best" is sort of in the eye of the beholder, but for the most part they do pretty well. A word of caution, however, give yourself plenty of time to make the trip between Charlotte and Indy as the timetable is just a very rough guide. Because Amtrak must give priority to freight trains outside of the Northeast, trips are usually delayed at least a half-hour from the official schedule. All the best to you on your trip!



EDIT: Indeed, Amtrak is a perfectly safe mode of transportation. Serious accidents are extremely rare with the carrier, and nearly every accident (large or small) is the cause of impatient motorists or, unfortunately, sabotage (which has only occurred a few times that I am aware).
