Never. The Indian Railway is the largest single employer in the world. No private company could afford it.

I agree with most of the answerers. It is the only profit making govt enterprise. But few departments could be privatised,such as, Catering, railway station maintenances, etc;

No i doubt because the government has a monopoly where the railways are concerned and it also forms a major part of the natioal revenue.
